We are ready to bring the largest party for Women of the bay and beyond together for Oakland’s Pride Celebration 2012! Together with many Bay Area Artist, DJ’s, Sponsors, and Hosts, we are forming the Strongest WOMEN’S presence at Pride this year. We are a unique group of folks that are dedicated to providing women with the best in music, artistry, and LOVE.
The artists performing on Women’s Stage this year include Headliner Rah Digga, Heaven, Raw G , Kahla (band), Niva Flor, GiGi Green, Mack Mistress, Mc Mona Webb, Buttafly, Aima the Dreamer. Rah Digga
Well known as a long time member of the Flipmode Squad, a hip hop group led by Busta Rhymes. Rah Digga has been called “one of rap’s most prominent women MCs” by Allmusic and “one of hip-hop’s most skilled female MCs” in the book How to Rap. Following Rah and the Flipmode Squad striking gold with The Imperial Album, and winning the Source Hip Hop Music Award for Best New Group, in 2000 she finally released her solo project, Dirty Harriet. A critically-acclaimed debut, it would produce several chart-topping singles – “Imperial” (featuring Busta), “Tight”, “Break Fool” and “Tight The Remix.” She also released the hit single, “Party and Bullsh*t” with the heavily spun remix that included Eve and Missy Elliot. Now, Ten years after her solo gold solo debut, Dirty Harriet, Rah Digga is going back to her hip-hop roots with her new album “Classic”. This album, produced by hip-hop super-producer Knotts, is Rah Digga at her purest, going back to her B-girl roots, with ten of her most hard hitting and lyrically challenging tracks to date.
