Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer ( LGBTQ) community members in cities across the country have organized to produce annual events that serve as the platform for pride in their respective communities. Oakland, California, has been one of the largest cities in the country without a pride celebration. Thanks to the efforst of our volunteers, that has all changed. Oakland Pride will be celebrated on September 5, 2010 and every Labor Day weekend annually.

Please help us to create history and volunteer to make Oakland Pride and a Community Center a reality. YOU can help make a difference by volunteering on one of our committees: Fundraising, Public Relations and Marketing, Communications and Entertainment, help on the day of Oakland Pride, special events and administrative support. What are your talents and gifts? Share them and help make the LGBTQ community more vital than ever before.
