OAKLAND — Oakland's LGBT community is getting ready for a party. Oakland Pride, a nonprofit group formed to develop an LGBT community center in Oakland and to launch an annual pride festival, cut the ribbon Wednesday evening at its new office at Jack London Square.

After a six-year absence, the Oakland Pride festival will return to uptown Oakland Sunday, September 5 during Labor Day weekend
